The race is on. It is funny that the Dishwasher is higher up the ladder than the culinary intern and the culinary student. Most of the time I would rather promote a dishwasher to the line instead of some idealistic 18-19 year old scabbie that is just out of culinary school with illusions of gastronomic grandure....

Smile No kidding!! That is cool! A dishwasher probably works just as hard as the student or intern and doesn't make as much.

Dishwashers....they deserve their rank - they are after all a Chef's best friend when the "heat is on".

That is why they are higher in rank than the culinary student and intern....I agree....I have had some STRONG dishwashers that I moved up to the line. Some of the BEST cooks/chefs I know.........

......dishwashing is where it's at....even when i was a culinary student...i went to work as an intern for my teacher (exec.chef)....he said...no matter how good i thought i was....i had dishes for the first month of my employment....learn a lot...gain respect.....yes...i was a dishwasher....a damn good one too...
